An imaginative musical journey through ancient times awaits! Jenny, a formidable multi-instrumentalist recently praised on BBC Radio 3 for “weaving her magic again,” teams up with Michael Tyack to bring a vibrant array of ancient and exotic instruments to the stage. This includes the Renaissance harp, recorders, cittern, lute, 17th-century violin, Turkish Sax and orphic Lyre.
We will hear their version of the 13th century classic “Summer in icumen in,” a lively composition that welcomes in the summer with the sounds of cuckoo calls. Also stunning new arrangements of Spring and Summer Concertos by Vivaldi, where we can be witness to some extraordinary improvisations and virtuosity. Come to hear well known masterpieces and discover some forgotten musical jewels of times past performed by these two unique musicians.

FRENCH CHANTEUSE OF CLASSIC AND CONTEMPORARY BOSSA NOVA

Nicole is a French chanteuse who sings classic and contemporary bossa nova in Portuguese, French and English. She takes you on a melodic and storytelling journey as she delights her audience with anecdotes from the 60s’ bossa nova movement throughout the gig.
She is accompanied by talented guitarist Richard Llewelyn whose fluid playing makes the whole performance a sheer joy and Ron Phelan at the double bass for warmth and rhythm.
